Wayne took up wood carving a little over 7 years ago upon retirement after a career with Environment Canada. He joined the Regina Whittlers and Woodcarvers where he purchased some of his first tools and learned some of the basics of wood carving. Upon moving to Emma Lake he has continued to hand carve a wide variety of subjects with different woods. He is self-taught and carves for the sheer enjoyment and relaxation of it, giving away most of his work as gifts to family and friends.
